Jay Nortonis an aggressive lawyer practicing primarily in the areas of Kansas DUI, criminal defense, and personal injury. Lindsay Hare,a partner in Norton Hare, LLC, is a zealous attorney practicing in the areas of domestic relations, criminal defense, DUI, personal injury and general litigation. Ms. Hare integrates her strong research and writing skills into her litigation style to deliver a comprehensive and thorough package in the courtroom. Ms. Hare understands the intense emotions and fears that clients have in any legal matter and she takes the time to listen, prepare and thoroughly and aggressively litigate that client’s case in court.  Ms. Hare has extensive experience representing clients in municipal and state courts in Kansas and Missouri.  She focuses her efforts on representing clients in domestic matters, specifically divorce, paternity, child support and child custody matters.  She is also dedicated to providing positive results for clients in traffic, DUI and criminal defense matters.

Lindsay Hare was raised in Olathe, Kansas and is a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area.   She attended the University of Kansas, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Juris Doctor.  While in law school, Ms. Hare served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Mary H. Murguia, United States District Court for the District of Arizona.  She then spent two years as a legal intern with the firm researching, writing motions and evaluating criminal and domestic cases before joining the firm as an attorney in 2005.  She is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri state and federal courts.

Phil Stein is a dedicated attorney focusing his practice on criminal defense, domestic relations and general litigation.  Mr. Stein is a hard-hitting and experienced trial lawyer who will not be outworked.   After spending seven years working in the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office, he joins the firm and brings his extensive experience in criminal law.  As a former prosecutor, Phil has worked on thousands of criminal cases and is uniquely qualified to effectively represent clients in a wide range of criminal matters.  He began his career handling domestic violence and juvenile cases , and then gained vast experience in handling high level felonies to include murder, rape and other sex crimes, kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated battery.

With over a hundred bench trials and forty jury trials under his belt, Mr. Stein earned a reputation as a highly experienced and tenacious trial lawyer with a focused and vast knowledge of sex crimes.  He is well-versed in all types of evidence, including DNA, trace collection and crime scene processing, fingerprint analysis, and computer forensics.  He has handled dozens of cases of child pornography, electronic solicitation (Internet solicitation), and Jessica’s Law sex crimes.  Mr. Stein was also appointed to serve as a Special Assistant Attorney General where he reviewed, analyzed and managed Sexually Violent Predator civil commitment cases.  Mr. Stein also vigorously represents clients in DUI and other traffic matters, domestic proceedings such as divorce, paternity and child custody disputes, child in need of care cases and personal injury cases.

Mr. Stein is a lifelong resident of Johnson County.  After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University, and his law degree from the University of Kansas, he served Johnson County for seven years as an intern and as prosecutor when he graduated from law school.   He is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, Johnson County Bar Association, and is the former president of the Young Lawyer’s Section.  Norton Hare, LLC is proud to have Mr. Stein join the firm and bring his extensive knowledge, experience and zeal for the law.
